In 2003 Chris Nowinski sustained a kick to the head that effectively ended his wrestling career.

Chris suffered severe headaches and depression caused from this particular blow to the head.

Doctors diagnosed Chris with post-concussion syndrome (PCS). The doctors could not explain why that specific kick to his head created the issues.

A blessing in disguise? Chris Nowinski then went on to write the book Head Games: Football's Concussion Crisis, and begin a journey to help uncover the dangers of sporting head injuries.

Christopher Nowinski is the co-founder and president of the Sports Legacy Institute (SLI). This is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to help solve the sports concussion crisis.
